My handcraft fun began a few years ago with knitting and crocheting. Later, I was engrossed in sewing, mainly clothes for myself and my family. I described my adventures with handcrafts on the blog www.pastelele.blogspot.com.
I made my first doll Tilda a year ago. She was sold on the charity Christmas market at my daughter’s school. Then there were more dolls. First, I was sewing straight Tildas, then I made my pattern. I was immersing myself in this magical fairy-tale world more and more. First there were straight faces with eyes shaped like black dots. Later I bought dry pastels and acrylic paints and learned to paint faces. The next step was to model the doll’s face in sheep’s undergrowth. At first, I bought shoes for dolls, then I started sewing them myself.
I can’t stop sewing dolls anymore. They pulled me into their world to the fullest. A breakthrough was the sewing of Anne of Green Gables. Many people liked the doll. People shared my post with Anne on Facebook. It reached many people, including English speakers. They asked me if it was possible to see my work somewhere apart from Facebook. I wrote them about my blog but I realized that the Polish language would be a barrier.
Because I love the world of dolls and I want to share it with as many people as possible, I decided to start a blog in English. I am not able to translate the entire blog that I previously ran in Polish. However, I decided to translate posts related to sewing dolls. So please don’t be surprised that the first few posts will have the same or close dates. I hope to catch up soon and the next post will be on both blogs at the same time. I will also make posts on Instagram (www.instagram.com/pastelele_dolls) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/pastelele) bilingual. If there is any linguistic inaccuracy, please forgive me.
I let you into my magical world of dolls, please be my guest …
