I made another red-haired girl. When I made the head and body, I was wondering how this doll should be dressed. I thought Christmas was coming and it would be nice to style her up into such a cute Christmas doll. But the longer I looked at her, the less she suited a sweet doll. I even thought for a moment to put it down and sew another Christmas doll. I couldn’t make up my mind.
The problem was that I thought I should sew a Christmas-dressed doll before Christmas, even though I didn’t really want it. However, I did not realize it until a few days later. I then decided to forget about Christmas time for a moment and dress the doll as usual. In what I think fits her. From that moment on, everything started to fall into place.
Greens and browns are the two colors I wanted to wear the doll with. There was an ordinary teenager in my head. In pants, a sweater, with a bag over his shoulder. It took me the longest to make a sweater. I really wanted it to be close to the body. Which is not easy to achieve. The first sweater I made was too big. I had to do the second. I have to write down the exact number of stitches so that there is no problem when making the next one.
After the doll was dressed, it was time for the bag and shoes. I recently bought leather scraps and now I have a lot of colors to choose from. At the beginning it was very difficult to work with leather, but I like it more and more. I am happy every time I make such small, shapely shoes. This time I had double satisfaction, the bag looks cool too.
When the doll was already dressed, I thought that it was definitely not Anne of Green Gables. But it could definitely be a contemporary teenage Anna 😊.
