2021 was a different year than all of them. Remote work, small contact with friends and family, constant subconscious fear for the health of yourself and your loved ones. On the other hand, there has been a total slowdown in the pace of life. There was time to listen to yourself and your loved ones. Thanks to this, I discovered my passion. I liked handicrafts, I crocheted, knit and sewed on a machine. At the end of 2020, I made my first dolls. I sold them at a charity fair at my daughter’s school. Later, I sewed another 2 and gave them to a charity auction for a two-year-old girl.
With each passing day, I enjoyed sewing dolls more and more. It was a stepping stone from the problems of everyday life. The first dolls were simple, the next more and more complicated. I started painting faces, modeling heads, strengthening doll bodies with wire reinforcements, sewing more and more complicated clothes. I learned to work with the leather. The last three dolls have leather shoes sewn by me and the last one has a leather bag.
I spent a lot of time learning how to sew dolls, watched a lot of tutorials, sewed and ripped until I got the right shape. I had tremendous patience when sewing these little dolls. I did not give up, when something did not work out, I tried again. I wanted everything to be detailed. It was a busy period that gave me great satisfaction. I present the works from this year in this short film:
