I want to show you another doll. I work a little with the pattern all the time. This doll has a slightly wider head than the previous one and I think I like the head more. Sewing the body of this doll, I had an elegant doll in my head with a tulle dress and a velour cloak. These plans, however, will have to wait for the next doll, as they interfered with my daughter’s plans. “Can we make such an ordinary doll?” she said, sitting next to me as I sewed legs to torso. It turned out that Ola would like this doll to be like an ordinary girl. After all, girls don’t wear elegant skirts and jackets every day. Of course they don’t, but I don’t know why I assumed they wanted their dolls so elegant. I figured the turtleneck, jeans jumpsuit, sweatshirt and shoulder bag would be ordinary enough.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

When sewing dolls, you can use every smallest scrap of fabric. I sew the jeans jumpsuit from a scrap of thin denim with ladybugs. For turtleneck, sweatshirt and jeans jumpsuit, I made my own doll-sized patterns. Apart from the hood, the sweatshirt is cut from one piece of outer material and one piece of lining. I try to limit the seams in such tiny clothes. I tried to sew the first sweatshirt for a doll as classically as it is made for people, with sleeves cut separately, but the accumulation of seams made the sweatshirt look very ugly on the doll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the hair, I sew it on in a new way for the first time. But I will try to devote one whole post to it. When the next doll is sewing, I will take pictures to show it in more detail.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This is the second doll I made from my own pattern. I am learning all the time, some things go well and others not necessarily. But after these two dolls I already know that sewing them gives me great pleasure. I am thinking about learning to paint and shape the face. By sewing such small things, I also found out how difficult this tailoring challenge is. You need to have a very good command of the machine to sew such tiny clothes without any problems. Fortunately, I have been sewing for more than 5 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
