When I start sewing a doll, I don’t quite know what it will look like. Usually, when profiling the head, the vision of the doll begins to form. This time it was also like that. When I started to form her eyes and shape her cheeks, I knew it would be some redhead slim girl. I was just wondering if it would be Anne of Green Gables or Pipi. After getting the shape of the mouth, I was sure it had to be Anne.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anne’s mouth and chin are dry-felted. I was afraid of this technique, but now I liked it very much. Thanks to it, the doll’s mouth can take any shape. There is something special about forming a doll’s head. Giving character and “life” to an ordinary piece of cloth. Creating it is only my time, this is my “meditation”. I was sewing various things, but nothing so far gave me such satisfaction and detachment from reality as sewing dolls.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I wanted Anne of Green Gables to be mine. I didn’t even heed my daughter’s suggestion, even though I usually do. This is my sentimental return to one of my childhood favorite books and the kind of Anne that was in my head and did not quite agree with the image shown in books and movies. And this is what she is, the first doll that I like more than my daughter likes.
