When I started modeling the head of this doll, I saw that it looked a bit like my daughter’s friend. I went in this direction and modeled her mouth and nose in such a way that she would resemble my daughter’s friend as much as possible. Thought it would be the first personalized doll I could make. I’ve always wanted to try it, maybe it’s time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was able to model the doll’s face. Later I chose a shade of hair and sewed it on. However, there was a big problem with getting a haircut. My daughter’s friend has a short, thick fringe. I tried to make it the way people cut their hair. However, transferring it to the doll did not give a good result. I took way too much hair for the fringe. Despite modeling with a curling iron and ironing it with an iron, the bangs could not be arranged. Now I know that I made this fringe way too thick. I managed to shade it a little and it looks better, but it’s still not perfect. The doll in the photos has a lace on its head. I put it on my wet fringe to make it stick to my forehead. We’ll see what happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was struggling with the bangs and I was not sure if a doll similar to her daughter’s friend would come out, her mother called. Earlier, I told her that I might sew a doll similar to her daughter. I asked if she would not mind if I took a picture of the doll and her daughter. It turned out that the girl did not want the doll. There is no doll and she has never played with dolls. I fully understand it, they are different children and they like to play with different toys. I do not know why I assumed that it would be a nice surprise for the child without making sure in advance whether he likes dolls. Anyway, I treated this doll more as an object to put on a shelf than to play. Nevertheless, this news helped me a bit. I don’t have to stress anymore that the doll will not look like a girl. I wonder if I will finish it at all. It will depend on whether I manage to tame my fringe. Maybe I’ll leave her and just sew another doll from the beginning …<\/p>\n\n\n\n
